Eine weitere war die New York & Hartfield RR, mit der man 1849 zur Hartford, Providence & Fishkill RR fusionierte. Die dritte, die Providence & Plainfield RR, wurde 1851 ebenfalls hineinfusioniert. Noch im gleichen Jahr 1851 wurde das erste Teilstück Hartford-Willimantic eröffnet. Schon 1858 ging die H.P.&F.R.R. pleite, 1863 wurde die Strecke an die neu gegründete Boston, Hartford & Erie RR verpachtet.
