Die Ges. betrieb „placer mining“ zur Goldgewinnung entlang des Chestatee River im Staat Georgia. Um 1815 entdeckten vermutlich die Cherokee-Indianer das erste Gold am Chestatee River. Die Entdeckung eines Goldklumpens führte 1828 zum ersten Goldrauch in Georgia. 1875 begannen interessante Versuche, mittels einer Tauchglocke (heute im nahen Hancock Park im Lumpkin County ausgestellt) Gold vom Grund des Chestatee River zu gewinnen.
