Die 39 Meilen lange Strecke Athens-Lula,Ga. konnte 1876 eröffnet werden, 1882 folgte die Strecke von Cornelia nach Tallulah Falls (diese 1887 verkauft an die Blue Ridge & Atlantic RR, die sich damit verhob, dann von der Tallulah Falls Ry. noch nach Franklin, N.C. verlängert, wenig später stillgelegt). Eine Dividende erwirtschaftete diese Bahn nie.
