Germain (gest. 1905) entwickelte Filial- und Depositensystem war seinerzeit bahnbrechend. 1946 verstaatlicht, deshalb sind alte Stücke der noch heute bedeutenden französischen Großbank generell absolute Raritäten. Jüngst wieder in den Schlagzeilen wegen eines Übernahmekampfes um das inzwischen reprivatisierte Institut und wegen der Probleme, die der französische Nationalbank-Gouverneur Trichet bei seiner Nominierung zum EZB-Präsidenten bekam: Er soll in den 1980er Jahren Bilanzmanipulationen beim Crédit Lyonnais mit gedeckt haben. | | Specials: | Außergewöhnlich dekorative Gestaltung mit antiken Allegorien, eine Arbeit von A.
