Info:Die Firma war ein schwedischer Autoimporteur. 1931 wurde das Unternehmen Schwedens erster Generalvertreter für Daimler Benz. Die Leitung hatte Gunnar Philipson inne. 1937 Übernahme von J.V. Svensons Motorfabrik. Das Werk in Augustendal (heute Nacka Strand) montierte Fahrzeuge unter anderem für DKW, Dodge und später auch Mercedes. Gunnar Philipson plante eine eigene Automarke unter dem Namen Philipin, letztendlich wurde aber nur ein einziges Fahrzeug hergestellt. 1951 gründete Philipson in Belgien noch die IMA. Gunnar Philipson starb 1970, die Familie führte das Unternehmen weiter. 1976 gaben die Philipsons die Vertretung von Auto Union nach fast fünfzig Jahren an Svenska Volkswagen ab. In den 1980er Jahren erfolgte eine Umstrukturierung, da man mittlerweile auch Aktivitäten in der Immobilienverwaltung aufgenommen hatte. Es entstand eine neue Muttergesellschaft, aus der später die Arcona hervorging und in der die Immobilienverwaltung gebündelt wurde. Die Automobilsparte wurde in eine Tochtergesellschaft ausgegliedert, die Philipson Bil AB.
