Daran anschließend gründete die Delaware & Hudson 1890 die dreischienige (kombiniert Schmal- und Normalspur) Saranac & Lake Placid RR, über deren Normalspur Züge der New York Central rollten (die diesen erst 1972 stillgelegten Streckenteil 1946 kaufte).
