Im Unterschied zur Bundesrepublik, in der sich die Deutsche Bank AG 1957 als einheitliches Institut neu etablierte, blieb die Berliner Disconto Bank aufgrund der politischen Sonderstellung West-Berlins wieterbestehen. 1978 wurde sie umbenannt in Deutsche Bank Berlin.
