Jh. errichtete man in North Brookfield (etwa 55 Meilen von Boston) eine große vierstöckige Textilfabrik für die Oxford Linen Mills. Die Firma rühmte sich, daß ihre Stoffe Feuchtigkeit etwa fünf mal schneller absorbierten als Konkurrenzprodukte, auch in die Herstellung von Matratzen stieg man ein. Die Aktien wurden von der für ihre agressiven Vermarktungsmethoden berüchtigten Sterling Debenture Corp. unter‘s Volk gebracht. Mit rechten Dingen ging es dabei nicht zu, neun Sterling-Mitarbeiter wanderten später in‘s Kittchen.
