Anfang der 30er Jahre taucht dann die Niedersächsische Landesbank Girozentrale als Mehrheitsaktionär auf. Später als Bankhaus Nicolai & Co. firmierend, nach der Insolvenz 1975 vorübergehend noch einmal unter die Fittiche der NORD/LB gekommen und dann übernommen von der Vereins- und Westbank (die 2005 mit ihrem Großaktionär HypoVereinsbank fusioniert wurde).
