Lawson, auf den sich die später bedeutende Fahrzeugbautradition am Standort Coventry zurückführen lässt, die Quinton Cycle Company. Unter seiner Leitung begann Beeston Cycle & Motor mit der Produktion motorisierter Dreiräder, die sich konstruktiv eng an De-Dion-Fahrzeuge anlehnten. Eine dieser Maschinen nahm, als einziges britisches Fahrzeug überhaupt am Start, am allerersten London-Brighton-Rennen teil. 1899 wurde außerdem ein 3,5-PS-Kleinwagen gebaut.
