Schnell stieg die Einwohnerzahl von Molega dann von wenigen dutzend auf über tausend. Seine Hochzeit hatte der Molega Gold District 1889, als allein Parker-Douglas 4.000 Feinunzen Gold aus den Quarzadern extrahierte. Diebstahl durch die Arbeiter war ein großes Problem, weil das Gold hier oft in Nuggets vorkam, die man, anders als Goldstaub, schnell mal in der Hosentasche verschwinden lassen konnte.
