Damit schlug die NP gleich zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe: Zum einen erschloß sie die für den Bahnbetrieb hochwillkommenen Kohlevorkommen von Rocky Fork, zum anderen diente die Strecke von Anfang an (für diese frühe Zeit noch ganz ungewöhnlich) auch touristischen Zwecken. Unterstrichen wird das noch dadurch, daß die NP auch die Mehrheit der National Park Transportation Co. besaß und an der Yellowstone Park Association (die den 1872 als ältesten Nationalpark der Welt eingerichteten Yellowstone Park mit seinen weltberühmten Geysiren entwickelte) mit einer Schachtel beteiligt war. | | Condition: | UNC. | | Sold: | 40,00 EUR |
