Miete zahlte). Das Freiwilligen-Regiment wurde erstmals im Juli 1861 im Sezessionskrieg gebildet und von der Unions-Armee zum Schutz von Versorgungszügen und zur Bewachung von Materialdepots eingesetzt. Der zweite Einsatz als Kavallerie-Schwadron der Illinois National Guard erfolgte 1897/98 im spanisch-amerikanischen Krieg. Im 1. Weltkrieg ab 1916 als 3rd Field Artillery eingesetzt und im 2.
