Viele ähnliche Betriebe kamen bald dazu (auch ein Werk von Bethlehem Steel), von denen die in den 1860ern gegründete Pottstown Iron Co. der bedeutendste wurde. Neben den Hochöfen wurden Stahlwerke, Walzwerke und eine Nagelfabrik betrieben.
