Doch noch größerer Ehrgeiz packte ihn, und so verließ er GM, kaufte 1916 die Jeffery-Werke und brachte 1917 den ersten Wagen unter seinem eigenen Namen “Nash” heraus. 1922/24 übernahm er die Wettbewerber LaFayette und Mitchell. Ein Produktionsrekord jagte den anderen, 1934 lief der millionste Nash vom Band. Von 1938 bis 1954 war Nash die Automobilabteilung der Nash-Kelvinator Corp. 1954 übernahm Nash die Hudson Motor Co. und wurde American Motors. Doch das Ende nahte: 1957, die Jahresproduktion war auf unter 10.000 Autos gefallen, war Schluß. | | Specials: | Braun/schwarzer Druck.
