Diese wurde durch den Handel mit Rohstoffen einer der erfolgreichsten Bergbaukonzerne der Welt. Die Rand Selection besaß mehrere Minen, 5 Township Areas und Anteile an mehreren südafrikanischen Minengesellschaften.
