Auf der 81 Meilen langen Strecke von Geddes nach Binghamton (81 Meilen) wurde vor allem Kohle zur Salzindustrie nach Syracuse transportiert. 1856 fusioniert mit der Syracuse & Southern RR (obwohl die eine Bahn normalspurig und die andere breitspurig war), 1857 dann nach Reorganisation umbenannt wie oben. 1869 zusammen mit der anschließenden Oswego & Syracuse RR unter die Kontrolle der Delaware, Lackawanna & Western RR gekommen, was der D.L.&W.R.R. eine durchgehende Verbindung von Binghamton zur Hafenstadt Oswego am Lake Ontario einbrachte. Rechtlich blieb die S.B.&N.Y.R.R. fast ein Jahrhundert lang weiter eigenständig.
