Das Werftgelände befand sich unmittelbar an der für große Seeschiffe erreichbaren Flensburger Förde. Gebaut wurden Motor- und Dampfschiffe bis 50.000 tdw. Ab 1965 außerdem Reparaturbetrieb für Kettenfahrzeuge (1967 in die Fahrzeugwerke Nord, ein Gemeinschaftsunternehmen mit MAN, eingebracht).
