Gebaut wurde die Bahn in 1.676-mm-Breitspur, weil auch die in Danville anschließende Atlantic & St. Lawrence RR diese Spurweite gewählt hatte. In Waterville Anschluß an die Penobscot & Kennebec RR, die man 1856 auf 20 Jahre pachtete. 1862 fusionierten beide Bahnen zur Maine Central RR. 1871 wurde die (bis heute, nun durch die Pan Am Railways in Betrieb befindliche!)
