Zu der Zeit existierte diese Stadt noch gar nicht - ihr Entstehen ist untrennbar mit dem Wirken dieser Ges. verbunden. Noch im Jahr 1890 erhielt Basic City die Stadtrechte und erlebte bis 1893 eine explosionsartige Industrieentwicklung, wozu auch der Anschluß an die Eisenbahnstrecken der Norfolk & Western RR sowie der Chesapeake & Ohio RR beitrug. Genau so schnell wie Basic City wie ein Pilz aus dem Boden geschossen war, erlebte die Stadt in der Wirtschaftskrise 1893-1896 gleich wieder ihren Niedergang. 1924 verlor Basic City seine eigenen Stadtrechte und ging in der City of Waynesboro auf. | | Specials: | Eine der schönsten Bergbau-Vignetten überhaupt, fast bierdeckelgroß, drei Neben-Vignetten. | | Condition: | EF | | Sold: | unsold |
