Die 35 Meilen lange Strecke Reading-Allentown, Pa. ging 1859 in Betrieb. 1869 auf 999 Jahre an die Philadelphia & Reading verpachtet, die die Bahn als „East Pennsylvania Branch“ in die durchgehende Verbindung Harrisburg-Allentown integrierte. Rechtlich blieb diese Bahn aber bis 1976 selbständig, ehe sie 1976 nach dem Reading-Konkurs gemeinsam mit der Reading in Conrail integriert wurde.
