In Finow bei Eberswalde wurde am Hohenzollernkanal nach Plänen von Prof. Klingenberg ein Steinkohlen-Kraftwerk errichtet. 1916 erwarb die Provinz Brandenburg die Aktienmehrheit. 1931 brachte der Freistaat Mecklenburg-Schwerin seine Landeselektrizitätswerke ein. 1934 schließlich wurde die Ueberlandzentrale Pommern eingegliedert.
