Die Hawaiian Bell wurde bereits 1894 von der Mutual Telephone Co. geschluckt, der 1883 gegründeten zweitältesten Telefongesellschaft im Königreich Hawaii. Diem Hilo and Hawaii ereilte dieses Schicksal erst nach dem 1. Weltkrieg. Mit der Übernahme des Telefongeschäfts der Hawaiian Pineapple Co. auf der Insel Lana‘i 1954 besaß Mutual dann das gesamte Telefongeschäft der Hawaii-Inseln und firmierte bei der Gelegenheit in Hawaiian Telephone Co. um. Ab 2002 Verizon Hawaii, ab 2005 nach Übernahme der Verizon-Hawaii-Aktivitäten durch die Carlyle Group die Hawaiian Telcom. | | Availability: | Mit kpl. Stub.
