Nach festen Flugplänen wird seit 1994 geflogen. 1996 wurde die EBA von der Virgin Group übernommen und wie oben umbenannt. Heute eine der führenden Billig-Airlines in Europa. | | Availability: | Die Virgin Group mit einer Vielzahl von Unternehmen ist im Übrigen ein sehr interessanter Misch-Konzern. Die Anfänge gehen auf den Schallplatten-Laden namens Virgin von Richard Charles Nicholas Branson zurück (Gründung 1970). Branson ist ein millionenschwerer britischer Unternehmer, der gerade erst wieder 2021 von sich Reden machte, als er mit Jeff Bezos (Amazon) um den ersten touristischen Weltraumflug wetteiferte. Virgin Calactic startete am 11.7.2021 mit dem Raketenflugzeug VSS Unitiy und erreichte eine Höhe von rund 86 Km. 1972 gründete Branson Virgin Records, dort erschien das weltberühmte Album von Mike Oldfield "Tubular Bells". Weitere Gründungen folgten, alle mit dem vorangestellten Namen Virgin. Derzeit (Stand 2022) sind es 43 Unternehmen (Luftfahrt, Reiseanbieter, Kosmetik, Transport-Service, Raumfahrt, Telekommunikation, Finanzdienstleistungen, Forschung, Eisenbahn, Radiosender, Weinproduktion und Handel, Event-Organisation, Schmuck, Hotels, Filmsponsoring u.v.m.
