Info:Gründung bereits 1800 mit königlicher Konzession durch die beiden Pfarrer Duncker und Wagener als "Optische Industrie-Anstalt Rathenow". Mit 15 Arbeitern werden Mikroskope, Brillengläser und Brillen erzeugt. 1845 übernimmt Emil Busch die Leitung, 1851 (inzwischen werden 130 Arbeiter beschäftigt) Einführung der Opernglasfabrikation. 1872 Umwandlung in die “Rathenower optische Industrieanstalt (vormals Emil Busch) AG”, 1908 Umfirmierung wie oben. Tochterfirmen in Kopenhagen seit 1920, London und Rio de Janeiro seit 1928. Börsennotiz Berlin, Mehrheitsaktionär war zuletzt die Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung in Jena. 1949 Sitzverlegung nach Göttingen, 1953 Umwandlung in die Emil Busch GmbH. Auf dem ehemaligen Betriebsgelände in Rathenow entstanden 1946 die Rathenower Optischen Werke GmbH, ab 1948 volkseigener Betrieb. Nach 1990 waren von ehemals 4000 Mitarbeitern ca. 800 beschäftigt, die die gesamte Produktpalette anbieten.
