Bei einer Erweiterung des Gesamtkomplexes 1904 wurde das Johannisbad eingeweiht, ein architektonisch einzigartiges Kleinod, das Jugenstil und Neogotik mit einem Hauch orientalischer Badekultur vereint. 1991 wegen Baufälligkeit geschlossen, anschließende Rettung durch Bürger, private Unternehmen und die Stadt Zwickau.
