Die Eigenstromerzegung blieb mit 10 % der abgesetzten Menge unbedeutend, im wesentlichen kam der Strom später von der Thüringer Elektrizitäts-Lieferungs-Ges. in Gotha, aber auch aus der Wasserkraft der Ölmühle H. A. Maurer. Eigentlich wichtigerer Zweck der AG war der Betrieb der elektrischen Straßenbahn in Eisenach mit den Linien Oststadt-Bahnhof-Westbahnhof, Karlsplatz-Mariental und Georgenstraße-Krankenhaus.
