In Zusammenarbeit mit der Eastern Telegraph Co. wurde Ägypten an das weltweite Telegraphennetz angeschlossen. 1928 errichtete Marconi Radio Telegraph Co. in Ägypten Relaisstationen für die drahtlose Telegraphie. Auch die Einführung des Radios verdankt Ägypten Marconi. Der erste experimentelle Radiosender wurde von Marconis Gesellschaft 1925 in Kairo errichtet. Ab 1926 wurden von 9.00 Uhr morgens bis Mitternacht Musik und Gesang bis nach Alexandria ausgestrahlt. Mit der Gründung der Egyptian Broadcasting Co. übernahm 1934 der ägyptische Staat die Kontrolle über das propagandistisch wichtige Telekommunikationsmedium.
