Ursprünglich besaß die Gesellschaft auch die Schweriner Straßenbahn, welche 1885 wegen Unrentabilität der Stadt Schwerin überlassen wurde. Die ursprüngliche Konzession in Rostock lief bis 1944 bzw. 1954.
