Die Rank Organisation wurde zu einem wichtigen Faktor in der britischen Filmindustrie. 1941 übernahm Rank die Gaumont-British Picture Corp. mit 251 Kinos. 1941 gingen die Paramount-Kinos in den Besitz von Rank über (1949 an BBC verkauft). Zu Rank Organisation gehörten auch die fünf größten britischen Filmstudios, zu denen auch die Pinewood Film Studios und die Denham Film Sudios zählten, denen 650 Kinos angeschlossen waren. 1956 Gründung der Tochterges.
