Zu Beginn des 20. Jhs. war der Brite Charles Urban führend im Kinogeschäft Großbritanniens. Die Cinématographes Éclipse war wirtschaftlich sehr erfolgreich. Sie beschäftigte sich mit allen Sparten der Filmindustrie, wie Produktion, Vertrieb, Verleih und Kinobetrieb. 1909 wurde ein Kamerateam rund um die Welt geschickt, ab 1914 wurde eine Wochenschau produziert. Die wöchentliche Serie über die komischen Abenteuer des Comic-Polizisten Nat Pinkerton war sehr beliebt. Der Erfolg der Gesellschaft machte Kapitalanleger aufmerksam: die Cinématographes Éclipse war wahrscheinlich das erste Unternehmen der Filmbranche, das bei Filmprojekten eine Unterstützung durch seriöse Banken erfuhr. | | Specials: | Äußerst dekorative Gestaltung mit zahlreichen Film-Motiven in der Umrandung, u.a.
