Dank dieser Vorrichtung, noch heute als “Williamson Photosphere” bezeichnet, war es möglich, Filme auf dem Meeresgrund zu drehen. 1911 versuchte Williamson mit Unterstützung seiner Williamson Photosphere einen Silberschatz aus einem vor der Küste Virginias gesunkenen Dampfer zu heben.
