Die Bank wickelte den gesamten Geldverkehr der Reichsbahn ab und war ab 1925 für das Frachtstundungsverfahren aller Kunden der Reichsbahn zuständig. 1928 wurde ihr auch der Abrechnungsverkehr des Vereins Mitteleuropäischer Eisenbahnverwaltungen übertragen. 1949 Sitzverlegung nach Frankfurt am Main, 1991 Verschmelzung mit und Umfirmierung in Deutsche Verkehrs-Bank AG.
