place: | Grossschweidnitz i.Sa. | | Picture: |  | | Number: | 677 | | Info: | Gründung 1856 als Zweigbetrieb der “Sir William Duncan Anglo Bleach Works”, weshalb die Leinenzwirnerei mit Bleicherei und Färberei in Großschweidnitz (bei Löbau) in der Bevölkerung auch noch viel später einfach nur “englische Fabrik” genannt wurde. 1905 Umwandlung in eine AG deutschen Rechts. In der Weltwirtschaftskrise wurde 1930 die Leinenzwirnerei stillgelegt und in’s schlesische Neusalz zum Großaktionär Gruschwitz Textilwerke AG verlegt, Bleicherei und Färberei blieben in Betrieb. Nach 1945 verstaatlicht und dem Kombinat “Hirschfelder Leinen- u. Textilindustrie” angegliedert.
