Info:Gründung 1898 zum Erhalt des Gebäudes 239 Arch St. in Philadelphia, in dem die erste "stars-and-stripes"-Flagge genäht wurde und zum Gedenken an Betsy Ross (1752-1836), die diese Flagge angefertigt hatte. Betsy Ross heiratete 1773 John Ross, Sohn des Reverend Eneas Ross. John Ross fiel als Soldat im amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg. Betsy Ross führte das familieneigene Polsterei-Geschäft in Philadelphia weiter, zu dem auch das Nähen von Flaggen gehörte. Am 14.6.1777 beschloß der Continental Congress in Philadelphia (das noch bis 1800 Hauptstadt der Vereinigten Staaten war), "stars-and-stripes" als Nationalflagge zu führen. Betsy Ross wurde die Ehre zuteil, die erste Flagge der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika zu nähen.
Specials:Sehr dekorativ, umkränzte Vignetten mit dem historischen Haus und dem Grab von Betsy Ross auf dem Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia, mittig farbige Abb. von Betsy Ross, die in Anwesenheit General Washington, George Ross und Robert Morris die erste amerikanische Flagge näht.
Availability:Rückseitig eingearbeitet eine 16-seitige kleine Broschüre über die Geschichte der ersten amerikanischen Flagge. Einriss im Knickfalz. Ein sehr schönes und außergewöhnliches Zertifikat!
