Die Hyper-Inflation 1923 zerstörte die Grundfesten der Bank: Die Kapitalumstellung 1924 erfolgte im unglaublich schlechten Verhältnis 2000:1 von 200 Mio. Mark auf nur noch 100.000 RM, die später auch noch auf 50.000 RM (1932) und 25.000 RM (1934) herabgesetzt werden mussten.
