Marcel Dassault, geboren als Marcel Bloch, war einer der ersten Luft- und Raumfahrtpionieren Frankreichs. Im Ersten Weltkrieg entwickelte er 1917 für die franz. Luftwaffe einen sehr effizienten Propeller. 1930 gründete er das Luftfahrtunternehmen Avions Marcel Bloch. Nach der Niederlage Frankreichs im Zweiten Weltkrieg sollte Bloch als so genannter wirtschaftlich wertvoller Jude für die Nazis arbeiten. Er wurde in in das KZ Buchenwald deportiert. Bloch verweigerte jede Kooperation mit der deutschen Luftfahrtindustrie, überlebte aber durch den Schutz eines Vertrauten von Wilhelm Canaris. 1949 änderte Bloch seinen Namen zu Dassault. Dassault entwickelte später u.a. die Kampfflugzeuge vom Typ Mystère und Mirage. Dassault leitete das Unternehmen Avions Marcel Dassault Breguet Aviation S.A. mit 16.000 Mitarbeitern bis zu seinem Tode (1986). | | Specials: | Dekorative Gestaltung mit Mirage-Zeichnung.
