Nach dem Börsengang von EPCOS am 15.10.1999 sind Siemens und Matsushita mit einem Anteil von jeweils 12,5 % wichtige Aktionäre geblieben. Die Erstnotierung fand gleichzeitig in Frankfurt und New York statt. EPCOS ist seit März 2003 einer der größten Werte im neu geschaffenen Technologie-Index TecDAX. EPCOS entwickelt, fertigt und vertreibt elektronische Bauelemente mit Fokus auf die technologisch anspruchsvollen Märkte der Informations- und Telekommunikationstechnik sowie der Automobil-, Industrie- und Konsum-Elektronik. Mit rund 13.300 Mitarbeitern wurden im Jahr 2003 1,27 Mrd. Euro Umsatz gemacht.
