Special Auction Automobile Collection Gottfried Schulz now online!

Dear collector friends, As of now you can view the lots on our FHW website https://www.fhw-online.de/en/ . Here you can go directly to the online catalog: https://www.fhw-online.de/en/FHW-Auction-888/ Date: November 18, 2023 (2 p.m. CET)

A little note in advance: although this is a DWA auction, for technical reasons this auction is posted on our FHW site. Therefore please do not be confused.

We have already offered Gottfried Schultz's beautiful automobile collection once in our 123rd FHW auction in March 2023, and more than half of the lots found new enthusiasts in that first attempt. The sheer volume of the Gottfried Schultz collection now allows us to give the collector market an attractive second chance: In this DWA Special Auction, all remaining lots will be called with starting prices as low as 2/3 of the original value.

The initiator of the collection was Robert Rademacher, for many years Chairman of the Board of Gottfried Schultz GmbH & Co. KG, which is the largest independent sales partner of the Volkswagen Group in Germany with more than 2,400 employees in around 30 companies of the brands Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Porsche, Bentley and Bugatti in the German Rhine-Ruhr region.

If the Gottfried Schultz Collection is now coming up for sale, it is also because Robert Rademacher has dropped the long-held idea of writing a kind of "history of the automobile" based on selected pieces from this collection.

For such a large work, the descriptions and company histories in this catalog can only be a very modest substitute and often only a rudimentary attempt to place technical and economic developments and company fates in a larger historical context.

Nevertheless, I wish you a lot of fun while reading now, even if Automobil items may not be the focus of your collector's interest at all - you will discover a lot of new and often enough completely surprising things. As a concise example of many, I would like to point out lot 369: the extremely rare share of Lilpop, Rau i Loewenstein from Warsaw. This machine manufacturer, which was the largest in Poland at the time, received production licenses from General Motors in 1936 and later built the "Kubus" armored personnel carrier, based on the Chevrolet 157, for Polish units in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.

As always, bids can be submitted traditionally by mail, e-mail or via the written bidding function on our online portal. Of course, it can also get really exciting with the live bidding function directly during the auction. You can find out how this works here: https://www.dwalive.de/de/LiveBieten/

Für Fragen stehen wir Ihnen mit Rat und Tat gerne zur Verfügung.
