Bereits 1890 wurde unter dem Bankpräsidenten Charles James Bell (ein Neffe von Alexander Graham Bell) Washington Hauptsitz, wo die Bank die zweite „Trust Company“ überhaupt war. Bereits 1903 erforderte das gewachsene Geschäft ein größeres Bankgebäude. Der imposante, in der Fachpresse damals umjubelte Neubau im neoklassischen Stil (Architekten: York & Sawyer) entstand im „Lafayette Square Historic District“, 1501 Pennsylvania Ave., direkt neben der Treasury. Dies ist der Grund, warum das Bankgebäude eine lange Zeit auch auf der Rückseite der 10-$-Banknoten mit abgebildet war, weshalb die Bank mit dem Slogan „right on the money“ warb. Später die „American Security Bank“, 1987 von MNC Financial übernommen, diese fusionierte 1993 mit NationsBank, und die ging schließlich in der Bank of America auf.
