Info:Gegründet 1872 als Armaturenfabrik von H. Breuer & Co. in Höchst, 1896 unter Einschluß der früheren Deutsche Wasserwerks-Gesellschaft Umwandlung in eine AG. Hergestellt wurden zunächst Armaturen wie Schieber für Gas-, Wasser-, Kanal- und Dampfleitungen. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde das Fertigungsprogramm erweitert um Rangierlokomotiven, Pumpen, Wasserturbinen sowie luft- und wassergekühlte Motoren (besonders bekannt wurden 2-Zylinder-Zweitaktmotoren in Magirus-Tragkraftspritzen und 2-Zylinder-Boxermotoren für Stromaggregate der Wehrmacht, aber auch Flugzeug-, Stern- und Dieselmotoren wurden produziert). 1923 Aktien-Umtausch-Angebot der Buderus'schen Eisenwerke an die Breuer-Aktionäre (3 Breuer-Aktien : 2 Buderus-Aktien). 1930 wurde noch der Betrieb der Geigerschen Fabrik GmbH in Karlsruhe übernommen (tätig auf dem Gebiet der Städteentwässerung und Abwasserverwertung). Kurz vor Kriegsende übernahmen die Breuerwerke 1943 von ihrer Mutter Buderus auch noch ein Werk in Hirzenhain, wo zuvor Öfen und Badewannen hergestellt worden waren, um dort mit Zwangsarbeitern insbesondere den Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger zu produzieren. Die Breuerwerke, inzwischen eine GmbH, wurden 1969 von Kraus-Maffei in München übernommen.
