Info:Gegründet 1835 als St. Andrews & Quebec Ry. zum Bau einer Bahn in britischer Kolonialspur (1676 mm, im Jahr 1877 auf Normalspur umgespurt) vom Hafen Saint Andrews nach Quebec. Erst 1851 begann der Bahnbau, machte nur langsame Fortschritte und erforderte schließlich 1856 die Reorganisierung als New Brunswick & Canada Ry. Zu dieser Zeit war erst ein 35 km langes Teilstück bis Dumbarton befahrbar. Mitte 1862 wurde Richmond an der Grenze zum US-Bundesstaat Maine erreicht. 1866 ging eine 31 km lange Zweigstrecke zur Hafenstadt Saint Stephen in Betrieb (Betriebsführung durch die NBCR, formell im Besitz der St. Stephen Branch Ry.), 1868 folgte eine 18 km lange Zweigstrecke nach Woodstock. Auf dem Territorium des US-Bundesstaats Maine wurde die Bahn 1870 durch die Houlton Branch RR (ab 1873 durch die NBCR gepachtet) bis Houlton verlängert. 1882 wurde die NBCR auf 999 Jahre an die im Norden anschließende New Brunswick Ry. verpachtet. Dieser Vertrag ging 1890 auf die Canadian Pacific Ry. über. Erst 1989 wurde ein Teil der Strecken stillgelegt, der Abschnitt von McAdam bis St. Stephen wird bis heute von der New Brunswick Southern Ry. befahren.
