Aufgrund der Manipulationen der Alianca Fabril wurde die Bank am 31.1.1891 zahlungsunfähig. 1895 gelang die Wiederbelebung und Umstrukturierung der Bank. 1897 geriet sie wieder in die Schlagzeilen, als sie eine grosse, geheim gehaltene Anleihe an die Nationaldruckerei vergab.
