Ihr Entstehen verdankt die AG der hohen Politik: Nachdem Parlamentarische Rat am 10.5.1949 Bonn zur Bundeshauptstadt erkoren hatte, gründeten nur knapp ein Jahr später Bonner Handwerker (mit Hilfe der Stadt Bonn, die zunächst 55 % der Aktien übernahm) diese AG, um so am erwarteten Bauboom für Ministerien und Botschaften teilzuhaben. Nach Eingemeindung von Beuel und Bad Godesberg 1970 Zusammenschluß mit deren Wohnungsunternehmen zur Vereinigte Bonner Wohnungsbau-AG.
